Taylor is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Taylor is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My mother retires tomorrow. After 11 years as fiscal director of our county’s Child Protective Services, she’d seen, heard and felt for a lot of gnarly situations. The turnover rate in the office is high. This is for good reason. In an attempt to mark how important this was, I went searching for the best bakery within an hour and a half of my small town. I found it. It’s Black Cat. Woman and LGBTQ+ owned, the instagram page proved the owner had something you can’t buy - talent. Creativity. A gift. I arrived a month early to order our 6” round, chatted with the owner, and gave her complete artist freedom (I HIGHLY suggest going this route). I went today to pick it up. The cake I was given is otherworldly. I have never seen anything like this; not online, not in major cities, not on the 1,000 baking shows on cable TV. It doesn’t seem possible. Which is in and of itself unbelievable - but it doesn’t stop there. When my mother saw it she began to tear up, staring in disbelief for minute after minute before whispering “I can’t believe it’s a cake” “Your cake,” I reminded her. “You deserve it.” There are bakeries that are bakeries. There are cakes that are cakes. There are some

We’ve utilized Black Cat Bakery for birthday cakes in the past, and each time they are absolutely stunning as well as delicious; but we were even more blown away by how absolutely perfect our wedding cake was this May. My husband and I were treated so well for our cake tasting in the months prior to the wedding, and the flavor combinations are as always, incredible. I trusted Madison to design a cake that matched our theme after choosing our flavors (this is HER art!), and she completely nailed it! It actually made me tear up how perfect it was. Our guests had nothing but compliments on both the design and flavor of our cake, and I’m already looking forward to eating it again for our first anniversary even if it risks being freezer burned 😆 You can tell that the staff here really loves what they do, and they put their hearts into their desserts and creations. Thank you so much!

I stopped in here the other day for the first time and I’m so happy I did! The lady working at the time was really nice. I got a cinnamon bun/monkey bread muffin and a pie and both were so good and creative! The pie alone is artwork!

This place is creative, delicious, and super friendly! The interior is beautifully decorated, and the pastries are not only visually appealing but also incredibly tasty. The cupcakes and desserts are the real stars of the show, but they also have some creative drinks that complement the desserts perfectly. It’s definitely worth checking out! It’s not too far from McDade Park.

Absolutely great for price, service, atmosphere and probably sweets. We got the kitten biscuits and strawberry heart. They were really good, but the kitten biscuits weren’t anything we hadn’t had before, and the heart was pretty good, I just didn’t exactly know what it was. We probably just didn’t get the right things, so we plan to go back in the future.
